About ROMACTED programme with representatives of the Municipality of Herceg Novi

Members of the ROMACTED team, Samir Jaha, Executive Director of the NGO Young Roma and Milica Kovacevic, Project Officer, met today with representatives of the Municipality of Herceg Novi to discuss activities from the second phase of the ROMACTED programme.


The meeting was attended by: Stevan Katic, President of the Municipality, Zeljko Bajceta, from the Secretariat for Local Self-Government, and Nikola Samardzic, Councilor in the Municipal Assembly. The meeting discussed the plans and activities for the future in this municipality, which will be organized in order to improve the position of the RE community.

ROMACTED - Promoting good governance and Roma empowerment at local level is designed to build the political will and sustainable policy of local government participation, increase local governance, build capacity and encourage the empowerment of local Roma communities to contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring, plans and projects concerning them. The ROMACTED programme is funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union, while the NGO Young Roma is a partner organization in implementation. The joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe, ROMACTED II phase (2021 - 2024), will be implemented in seven municipalities: Bar, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Herceg Novi, Niksic, Tivat and Ulcinj.
