Erasmus + Project on Building Capacity for Roma Organization’s on EU Funding and Partnership Building

NGO Young Roma will start the implementation within the project “Roaming – Capacity Building of Roma Organization’s on EU Funding and Partnership Building” . Project will start on 01/09/2016 and will last till 01/09/2017.

The main target groups of “Roaming” are CSOs active in “SIMURGH” Roma Network, who were selected due to their experience and expertise. These organizations are partners in this project (Out Of The Box International/Belgium, Asocijacija Koordinatora za romska pitanja/Serbia, Association of Citizens ROMAVERSITAS – Skoplje/FYRM, MladiRomi/BiH, Disutni Albania/Albania and Advancing Together/Kosovo) that will recruit other 40 CSOs through the co-based open calls in the second part of the project. However, the direct beneficiaries of this project will be youth workers from Roma CSOs, that will gain necessary knowledge on the EU funding and advocacy. They will also increase their European connections and networks, as project will involve stakeholders such as policy makers and institutions on the European level.

Specific objectives of “Roaming”project are:
1. to build the capacity of 6 Western Balkan CSOs and engage them in the process of monitoring, application and writing of the EU projects proposals, as well as enhance more effective fundraising activities for the 2017 – 2020 (Training on “EU funding and advocacy”);
2. to build cooperation between 6 Roma CSOs from Western Balkan and number of relevant European umbrellas, and stimulate European representation of Roma youth (Internship in Brussels for 6 youth workers coming from Roma civil society organizations);
3. to give a voice and knowledge to more than 40 Roma CSOs from Western Balkan, so they can successfully advocate for Roma youth issues on the local and national level, by making use of the European perspective (the “European Roma initiative labs” and a T-kit with recommendations).
